Fuck you! This one's for us, us!
Fuck you! This one's for us, us!
Fuck you! This one's for us, us!
Fuck you! This one's for us, us!
Fuck you!
It's always been a struggle, nothing changed once we realized how it all worked. As if some kind of guide or how-to could prepare you for an unstable environment built on uncertainty. As if we ever had a choice in the first place. The only thing we ever had in common was our intentions, and even they were all different to begin with...
They never told us what the world would be like on the other side/
The lies, the greener grass we found along the ride/
They poured it in our glass, we let the empty half decide/
The rise, and fall of hollow figures in our eyes/
Ten thousand people, all dressed the same/
All bound by “reason”, all placing blame/
All looking for the trick, the reason that they know exists/
Revolutions televising revolution rhetoric/
Big shiny houses, new cars to drive/
Empty promises, made to fill your lives, so.../
Fuck the generation, fuck the music scene/
Fuck the people in it, fuck the in between/
And in the end we're lost, not asking to be found, and it's all we ever wanted/
Fuck you! This one's for us, us!
Fuck you! This one's for us, us!
Fuck you! This one's for us, us!
Fuck you! This one's for us, us!
Fuck you!
Why, stand, why stand so firm in our way?
Why, stand, why stand so firm in our way?
Why, why, why must we choose paths or sides?
Can this be for you? Can this be for them?
Fuck you! This one's for us, us!
Fuck you! This one's for us, us!
Fuck you! This one's for us, us!
Fuck you! This one's for us, us!
Fuck you!
Why?!
Why?!
Why?!
Why?!
Why?!
Why?!
Why?!
Why?!
Why?!
Why?!
Why?!
Why?!
It all became a blur after a while, a whirlwind of the nights pushing into days, and back again. A constant reminder of “never again” and then right back out to continue on the same fucking road. Being told this, that and the other like a fucking child and mincing words with intellects that rivaled the same. It was a game we felt obligated to play because we were unaware there was another deck to choose from. Trading the swell of obligatory bullshit for drink tickets and a “maybe next time”. Like the fucking world revolves around you and your bullshit fucking venue? Like the world revolves around you, and your bullshit fucking existence!
I FORGOT YOU WERE ME!
And just as quickly as it started, it died and became something unto itself. A realization had been made and it was like flipping a switch. Fucking idiots, why hadn't we figured it out sooner? Fuck the promoters, fuck the bookers, fuck the venues who make a living off the death of a once thriving scene, fuck art, and fuck your fragile sensibilities. We dove head first into a goddamned void of our own creation. And in the end we're lost, not asking to be found, and it's all we ever wanted. Are you listening?
